Imagine if the creator of The Family Guy directed Blazing Saddles. There are two groups of people out there right now. Those of you who just threw up a little in your mouth will hate this news. Those who popped a woody will be thrilled. Seth MacFarlane has picked up financing for his next movie, titled A Million Ways to Die in the West.

MacFarlane co-wrote and will direct A Million Ways to Die in the West, his addition to the comedy western genre. He also will appear in the movie as a sheep farmer. Think about the cast he pulled together for his last movie, the R-rated comedy masterpiece Ted, and consider who he picked up for this one.

Starring in A Million Ways to Die in the West is Liam Neeson, Charlize Theron, Amanda Seyfried, Sarah Silverman, Giovannie Ribisi and Neil Patrick Harris. Neeson has starred in westerns before, and seeing the kind of characters he normally plays, I am very excited to see him tackle a broad comedy directed by MacFarlane.

Universal will finance the movie, along with Media Rights Capital (MRC).

Here is the plot for this piece of cinematic awesomeness.

After a cowardly sheep farmer backs out of a gunfight, his fickle girlfriend leaves him for another man. When a mysterious and beautiful woman rides into town, she helps him find his courage and they begin to fall in love. But when her husband, a notorious outlaw, arrives seeking revenge, the farmer must put his newfound courage to the test.
