Fans of X-Men comics know that Moria McTaggert has always been an important character when it comes to the history of the X-Men. She appeared in the post-credits of X-Men: The Last Stand (by Olivia Williams) when it turned out Professor X might have lived, and she had a much larger role in X-Men: First Class (played by Rose Byrne).

Well, EW reported that Rose Byrne will return in X-Men Apocalypse as Moria McTaggert, which is always a good thing. In minor spoilers for anyone who hasn’t seen X-Men First Class, Charles Xavier mind-wiped Moria at the end of their adventures, so she has no idea who the X-Men are.

Here is what Bryan Singer had to say about Moria’s return in X-Men Apocalypse.

“She’s a significant character in the movie. We ended First Class with Charles having wiped portions of her memory of her experience with the X-Men. They are, essentially, strangers to her when she meets them. It’s certainly a rich relationship that we started to dig into in First Class, and would like to mine more in this one.”

Singer also admitted that the main character in X-Men Apocalypse are Professor X, Magneto, Mystique and Beast and this movie will be the closure of the story that started with them in X-Men: First Class.

There have also been some teases that Dazzler will appear in the movie. For fans who aren’t familiar with Dazzler, she was famous in the 80s as a pop star who could control light, and basically used those powers to create amazing musical shows. She has changed and morphed over the years, but was a complete joke in the 80s, which is when this movie is set.
