Robert Rodriguez has a pretty cool new television channel coming called El Wray and will be geared towards English-language speaking Latinos. There are already two television series coming to the channel that I am interested in. The first is a professional wrestling show based around the AAA lucha libre promotion, and believe it or not, Good Ole Jim Ross is one of the candidates for the lead American commentator role.

The second is a From Dusk Till Dawn TV show.

Straight up, Dusk Till Dawn was a fantastic movie, both the Quentin Tarantino first half with the kidnapping and bank robbers and the Robert Rodriguez second half with the freaking vampire bar. I loved this movie.

The From Dusk Till Dawn TV show has a pretty amazing cast as well. Both Robert Patrick and Don Freaking Johnson joining the cast. Of course, Patrick was in Rodriguez’s The Faculty and Johnson got a nice comeback role in both Rodriguez’s Machete and in Tarantino’s Django Unchained.

Johnson will have a recurring role as Sheriff Earl McGraw while Patrick will play the minister father that Harvey Keitel played in the movie. Neither man is a stranger to TV, as Johnson was Crockett on Miami Vice and Patrick was David Duchovny’s replacement on The X-Files.

Madison Davenport (TVs Shameless) will play the Juliette Lewis role while Brandon Soo Hoo (Ender’s Game) will play her Asian brother. Also signed for the From Dusk Till Dawn TV show is Jesse Garcia (Sons of Anarchy), who will play a Texas Ranger, and D.J. Cotrona (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) and Zane Holtz (The Perks of Being a Wallflower), who will play the Gecko brothers (played in the movie by Tarantino and George Clooney).

The El Wray network starts broadcasting on Comcast cable providers in 2014.
