The History Channel’s Vikings may be eight months away from returning to television, but the show’s fans should be excited after watching the first season two trailer. The nearly two-minute clip debuted on Friday at Comic-Con 2013, and it featured Ragnar Lodbrok going to war against his brother, Rollo. Check out the Comic-Con 2013 Vikings trailer here.

There are a couple of interesting things to take from the trailer. First, it appears that the show is going to dive into war from the moment hits the airwaves again. There are no more sacrifices or political wrangling; it’s war.

Second, Rollo appears to kill Floki towards the end of the trailer. If that’s the case, then I’d expect the relationship between brothers to be permanently severed since Floki was one of Ragnar’s closest friends. I also believe that the show would suffer without Floki, who always seemed to add a lighter tone to a normally serious story.

It will be interesting to see how the story pans out, but the trailer definitely does the job of getting the show’s audience hyped up for season two. It’s a shame that we have to wait until spring 2014 for Vikings’ return.
