Guillermo Del Toro has given us a couple of teaser looks at Pacific Rim and an extended look from a recent CinemaCon first look. Now, we get another full length Pacific Rim trailer and – honestly – I am not any more excited than I was before. That isn’t really bad, because I still really want to see it, but the trailer wasn’t as awesome as I hoped it would be.

Pacific Rim trailerWe get a voice over telling us how the monsters came from beneath the sea and attacked cities over the world and how earth had to make monsters of their own (the robots) to fight back. We also learned that the two pilots of each robot somehow meld their minds, which is cool I guess.

Then we get a bunch of monsters fighting robots – same as the other trailers, but honestly a step down from the first two teasers. Plus, we get the horribly cringe inducing “Today we cancelled Armageddon” speech by Idris Elba.

Now, I am not worried because I know all about Guillermo Del Toro movies and know this can’t be as generic as the trailers makes it look. Oh well, check out the new Pacific Rim trailer and let us know what you think. Pacific Rim hits theaters in July.
