Michael Bay’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is officially rolling and the news is dropping like crazy over the set reports. The latest story entails a major familiar name to the Ninja Turtle mythology known as Shredder.
Deadline reports that William Fichtner (The Dark Knight, Black Hawk Down) has signed to play a major iconic role in the film. No word on what character he has decided to tackle but many sites are speculating Shredder. In my opinion, I think he would be a much better fit as Casey Jones. He certainly has a solid look for the role. Especially, if he were to grow his hair out. Besides, Shredder should always remain as an Asian role, not a white dude. Ken Watanabe perhaps?

Whatever the case, William Fichtner is an extremely great actor and I have faith he will do any character he is given justice. My only hope is that the studio has the same objective in mind for the Ninja Turtle Property. Either way, this movie is being made whether we like it or not. So, let’s hope for the best!
