Not a lot has been known about Captain America: The Winter Soldier outside of the title and casting news. The title makes it see like they will focus on Bucky, who turned out in the comics to still be alive and an assassin known as The Winter Soldier. They also cast Anthony Mackie to play The Falcon, who was Cap’s sidekick in the comics for a long time. Well, Anthony Mackie talked Captain America in a recent interview and had some interesting information.

For one thing, Mackie pretty much said that Captain America: The Winter Soldier is almost like an Avengers 1.5 – a group team up movie.

“If you look at the cast they’ve put together, if you look at the number of characters that are in this movie. I mean, it’s a huge number of superheroes and characters,” Mackie said. “The basic idea is that you have Captain America, Black Widow, and Falcon that get together to take down the Winter Soldier.”

What we knew before was that this was a political thriller and that S.H.I.E.L.D. would be involved, since Captain America is pretty much going to keep working for the government. With The Winter Soldier a former U.S. soldier brainwashed into being a killing machine, Cap is the best person to send after him.

With many other villains named (Crossbones and Batroc are two that come to mind), Cap probably needs help and that is where Widow and Falcon come in, two other agents helping him out in a military unit of sorts.

Does the idea of another group dynamic make you more excited about Captain America: The Winter Soldier?
