POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOLLOW

There have been a ton of recent leaks when it comes to the story and spoilers from the upcoming Suicide Squad movie. Don’t read any more if you want to go in completely unspoiled, because I will reveal some possible leaks about The Joker in the Suicide Squad movie as well as a possible Batman appearance.

Seriously, turn away unless you really want to know.

OK.

Basically, it was revealed this week that Joker will actually play a large role in the Suicide Squad movie, but is not a part of the team (thank God). Actually, Joker will be more of a Hannibal Lecter character, brought into the prison in order to keep the recently arrested Harley Quinn under control. See, Harley is a part of the Suicide Squad and Joker is being used to keep her in line.

There have also been rumors that Batman might be mentioned or shown in news broadcasts to tie the movie more into the DC Comics world. Now, it looks like there might be more to it than that. According to the latest leaks, Ben Affleck’s Batman will show up at the end of Suicide Squad. Whether that will be a post-credit scene or something more remains unknown.

Of course, Batman will be introduced in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, which is supposed to borrow heavily from Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns. In that book, Batman battles Superman when the government wants the vigilantism of Batman to stop. Well, the rumors now are that Suicide Squad will lead to a new Batman movie, one where Batman battles Joker. The big reveal is that it will also be based on The Dark Knight Returns, or at least the part of the story where Batman battles Joker.

With Batman battling Joker three times already in movies (Cesar Romero in Batman: The Movie, Jack Nicholson in Batman and Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight), DC Comics and Warner Bros really needs to find something fresh to bring Joker back again. Having the two as old enemies battling one last time might be the perfect way to do so.

What are your thoughts? Do you want to see Joker and Batman fight again on the big screen and is patterning it after The Dark Knight Returns the way to go? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
