Yesterday, Renegade Cinema brought you the news that the bad guys in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII might or might not be Jedi Hunters. Also in the article, we mentioned that this sounds similar to The Inquisitor from Star Wars Rebels, the new animated series that comes out this fall.

Well, with that there is some new rumors about Star Wars Rebels, and specifically who will voice The Inquisitor himself on the show. According to TheForce.net, Jason Isaacs will voice the villain on the Star Wars Rebels TV show.

Check out the Star Wars Rebels trailer below and listen carefully to the end of the trailer where The Inquisitor actually talks.

It sounds like Jason Isaccs. Of course, Disney isn’t answering questions right now and Disney XD actually told Slash Film that there is no additional casting announcements at this time.

So, for those of you who are completely lost right now, who is The Inquisitor?

The Star Wars Rebels show takes place in between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. Darth Vader sends The Inquisitor to hunt down and kill the remaining Jedi soldiers who are spread out across the galaxy. He is Vader’s minion in much the same way that Vader was to The Emperor.

With the news that the bad guys in Star Wars Episode VII are Jedi Hunters, one has to wonder if they are an off-shoot of the Inquisitor’s troops, or maybe even a group of killers who want to follow in the footsteps of this legendary group (since this group was before the first Star Wars and the new movie takes place 30 years after Return of the Jedi).

Just like with all the Star Wars news, we really won’t know anything until the movies (and TV shows) are actually finished. Are you excited about Star Wars Rebels? Does The Inquisitor sound like a worthy villain in the Star Wars universe? Lets chat Star Wars rumors in the comment section below.
