So I mostly write about comic book movies, sci-fi, and horror on this site. It’s true. You know it. I know it. With that in mind, it’s time for me to come clean. Comedy is my true passion. I write comedy most of the time I’m not doing this (you wouldn’t know from reading this). Hell, sometimes I even perform it. Point is: I pay a lot of attention to this stuff, and I’m very invested, so trust me when I say that in today’s comedic landscape, there stand two figures whose significance is impossible to ignore. Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key. They are the stars, writers, and executive producers of the hit show Key and Peele. They are quite possibly the funniest dudes alive, and now they also have a movie in the works that will be produced by another titan of comedy: Judd Apatow.

The former MadTV cast members have inked a deal with Universal Pictures to create a starring vehicle for the duo, which they will also write and executive produce. I doubt we’ll get a reprise of the East/West Bowl or Liam Neesons, but It will be funny nonetheless. Their show is marked by impressively economic storytelling, a stunning visual style, and jokes that make you laugh so hard you spit up liquids you never drank. I fully expect Key and Peele to murderize cinema going audiences, and I can’t wait for more updates in the future.
