With the success of The Expendables, a new movie is underway to bring the butt-kicking female action start together in their own big adventure. Right now they are calling it The ExpendaBelles and they have reached out to both Cameron Diaz, Milla Jovovich and … Meryl Streep?
Of course, Cameron Diaz was one of Charlie’s Angels and Milla Jovovich might be the most famous female butt kicker around right about this time. Meryl Streep was … well, she was Margaret Thatcher, so maybe she will be the bad guy in the movie – or maybe the Mickey Rourke character. I would have rather seen Helen Mirren in the role.
If they want the ExpendaBelles to be successful they need to sign the following women: Kate Beckinsale, Zoe Saldana, Gina Carano and Katee Sackhoff. That would give us some of the biggest butt kicking women in the last decade all teaming up to – do whatever a bunch of angry women should do. Maybe add Sigourney Weaver and Linda Hamilton if they want to go the Sylvester Stallone route.
Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith (Legally Blonde) wrote the script and a director is being sought.
