David Ayer, probably best known for his writing duties on flicks like Training Day (“You shot me in the ass!!!”), the original Fast and the Furious and S.W.A.T. (sue me, I own it on DVD — yes, DVD, not Blu) as well as directing End of Watch, has certainly landed himself a cool concept with a stellar cast. Ayer’s latest project — which he will direct — is titled Fury, and tells the story of a group of Allies who takes a Sherman tank behind enemy lines on a mission staged during the final days of the European Theater. Brad Pitt will play the sergeant leading the team of five inside the tank, which is presumably set to run all over Axis forces, in hopefully gorily fulfilling ways. And get this — Pitt’s character’s name is Wardaddy. Say it with me. War. Daddy. Anywho, the first Fury photos has been released, so take a look:

Who…who is that with his arm draped on the rear gun? SHANE!!!! Yup, that’s Jon Bernthal, the man you loved to hate, one of the best actors ever featured on The Walking Dead. Fury will also star Michael Pena, Logan Lerman, Logan Lerman, and Shia LaBeouf. The cast seems solid, the story seems cool, and it’s all heading our way about a year from now on November 14, 2014. What say you about the new Fury photos?
