Mark Millar has created a very confusing bit of news when it comes to a possible X-Men Fantastic Four crossover event. Basically, Millar said that the two properties would cross over in the future, and then when media outlets picked up the story, he acted confused and said it wouldn’t happen. So, which one is it?
This all started when Mark Millar was asked about a possible X-Men Fantastic Four crossover, since both properties are owned by Fox. Here is what he said in the interview.
“Without question I think you have to see some of these guys showing up in each other’s movies,” Millar said. “I think the most exciting thing in superhero movies, until The Avengers came along, was when Nick Fury showed up in Iron Man. Even though it was a guy with an eye patch it was really cool – and I expect we will see more of that.”
So, Mark Millar said, and I quote – “Without question I think you have to see some of these guys showing up in each other’s movies.” So, since the words came out of his mouth – and he is the creative consultant for Fox when it comes to Marvel movies, people assumed it was the truth.
Well, maybe Mark Millar was drinking before that interview, because once the news went out, he backtracked – sort of.
I keep seeing ‘news’ that X-Men & FF movies are crossing over. No, they’re not. They exist in same universe but movies stand alone.

He then released a second tweet after that where he said that the news sites got excited about his “obvious answer” but there is no crossover planned. Well, of course they got excited Mark, because your “obvious answer” was that there WOULD BE AN X-MEN FANTASTIC FOUR CROSSOVER.
Basically, this was Mark Millar talking about something he either (a) shouldn’t have been talking about or (b) had not idea what he was talking about. I’d say it was a little of both, and proves you can’t believe a word that comes out of his mouth.
Maybe he just wanted more publicity. Well, there ya go Mark, more publicity for you.
