Johnny Depp RetiringArguably the most popular actor alive, Johnny Depp has been acting longer than probably most of his fans have been alive. That, on top of having recently turned 50, an interview with the BBC had the actor touch on the subject of Johnny Depp retiring from acting.

“At a certain point you start thinking and when you add up the amount of dialogue you say per year, for example, you realize you’ve said written words more than you’ve had a chance to say your own words. You start thinking of that as an insane option for a human being. Are there quieter things I wouldn’t mind doing? Yeah. I wouldn’t say I’m dropping out any second, but I would say it’s probably not too far away.”
He’s certainly got the money to do so, and really, what else can he feel that passionate about that he hasn’t already done? Honestly, he should have retired after staring in the brilliant A Nightmare On Elm Street, where he performed his greatest on-screen accomplishment. In the scene where he’s sucked into the bed, just before he dies, take notice that he’s sleeping WITH A TV ON HIS CROTCH. No joke. He’s just sleeping while a 20lb TV is planted squarely on his groin, and he acts like it’s nothing. Awesome stuff.
