Any day with new Marvel movies news is a good day, and today’s big news comes courtesy of the Guardians of the Galaxy casting. It looks like a Benicio Del Toro Marvel relationship has begun as Marvel cast him in a “major” role that will include appearances in more upcoming Marvel movies.

I have no idea how to respond to this.

For one thing, Guardians of the Galaxy is supposed to be a self-contained movie that lives inside the Marvel universe, but is not really that connected to the Avengers thread of movies. That looks to be an incorrect statement now. It seems like there will be a connection, but how that will occur is anyone’s guess.

Another rumor was that Guardians of the Galaxy is supposed to take place in another timeline, possibly in the future. If that is the case, there will have to be some sort of time travel if Benicio Del Toro’s character will appear in more Marvel movies down the line.

However, I love the idea of a Benicio Del Toro Marvel relationship and can’t wait to see what he brings to the table.

In other Guardians of the Galaxy news, the lead female villain in the film has been filled by Karen Gillan (Doctor Who) and none other than Troma God Lloyd Kaufman (the man who gave James Gunn his start) will have a cameo role as well.

I can’t wait.
