For those people who might not be familiar with new Marvel Films director James Gunn’s work, and only know his name because of his signing to make Guardians of the Galaxy, here is a special treat.

Gunn posted a link on Twitter to an old mini-doc from Debbie Rochon and Fangoria about his classic cult-horror film Slither. In the Facebook post, Gunn said this was a documentary he had never known existed with footage he had never seen, which makes it both a treat for him and his fans.

Slither is Gunn’s Hollywood directorial debut, a horror movie that has an alien invasion where the creatures begin to possess and transform human hosts into grotesque monsters. For genre fans, there is a lot here to love. Nathan Fillion (Firefly, Castle) plays the sheriff of the small country town where the invasion begins and Michael Rooker (The Walking Dead) plays one of the possessed humans.

It is a brilliant horror movie and a great introduction to Hollywood for James Gunn.

Enjoy the mini-documentary.
