Deadline is reporting that Benedict Cumberbatch, Jessica Chastain, Emma Stone, and Charlie Hunnam have all signed on to the Crimson Peak cast, Guillermo Del Toro’s next picture.

Neither Benedict Cumberbatch nor Emma Stone have appeared in any of Del Toro’s projects before, but after the way both of their careers have taken off in the last few years, it’s not surprising that they’ve signed on to the Crimson Peak cast. Cumberbatch will be playing the villain in Star Trek Into Darkness, as well as playing the voice of Smaug and reprising his role as the Necromancer in the second film in the Hobbit trilogy later this year. Stone has already appeared in three films this year: Gangster Squad, Movie 43, and The Croods, and she will be returning to the role of Gwen Stacy for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Crimson Peak cast

Charlie Hunnam

This will be the second collaboration between Del Toro and Sons of Anarchy‘s Charlie Hunnam. Hunnam will be starring in one of the leading roles in this summer’s Pacific Rim. It appears that he will end up being a recurring star in Del Toro’s work, not unlike his Sons co-star Ron Perlman.

Chastain is no stranger to Guillermo’s work, having starred in this year’s film Mama, one of the projects that he served as an executive producer on.

With the Crimson Peak cast as talented as this, they can already consider my ticket purchased.
