Fans who love unconventional holiday movies will be in for a treat in 2016. Variety reported today that Bad Santa 2 will hit theaters on November 23, 2016. That will be just in time for people to catch around Thanksgiving Day and have an entire month to celebrate raunchy Christmas spirit through the holidays.

The movie is a sequel to the 2003 R-rated comedy that starred Billy Bob Thornton as Willie, a department store Santa Claus who robbed the malls that he worked at after they shut down for the night. Tony Cox co-starred as Santa’s helpful little Elf, who also served as his partner in crime. Lauren Graham also starred as the romantic interest who convinced Santa to change his ways.

One thing that made Bad Santa great was the direction of Terry Zwigoff, who is a master at off-kilter movies, such as Crumb and Ghost World. However, he hasn’t made a movie since 2006 with Art School Confidential.

However, Bad Santa 2 has a good director on board as well, with Mean Girls director Mark Waters directing the film. Doug Ellin (Entourage) and Shauna Cross (Whip It) will write the screenplay. Kathy Bates joins the cast as Willie’s mom.

Bad Santa 2 joins a pretty solid list of movies that will hit that Thanksgiving. Also in theaters at that time is the Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
