For those who didn’t see the first season of the horror television series, The Strain, it is about an epidemic that started on the island of Manhattan that turned the infected into bloodsucking vampires. If you missed out on it, it is available on DVD (buy it from Amazon here) and I recapped it here on Renegade Cinema (read my Strain recaps here).
Anyway, the TV show is based on a trilogy of novels by Chuck Hogan and Guillermo Del Toro, and if you have read the books, you will know that the first season was just the start of something big. The second season, much like the first, will hit in the summer and FX just released the first Strain season 2 teaser and you can check that out here.
There isn’t much to see except that Manhattan has pretty much been devastated, which means the series can start to move a little away from the Eph vs. Authority angle that dragged through the first season. Anything to get more Setrakian and Fet vs. vampire action is perfectly fine by me.
