I think we all saw this coming. Warner Bros. and Legendary have Godzilla opening this weekend, and what better time to promote the latest from Christopher Nolan? Right?

The new Interstellar trailer reveals more about the plot and the character motivations within the film. Crop life on Earth is dying and humanity is at risk of facing extinction. McConaughey plays Cooper, a farmer, pilot, and engineer who is being requested to join a voyage into space in hopes of finding an answer to the survival of mankind.

I know most people are going to expect a complex film on the level of Inception, but honestly this appears to be one of the most straight forward narratives I’ve seen from Christopher Nolan. What remains present though, is the grand ideas we come to expect from the acclaimed director. As Michael Caine so elegantly puts it, “We’re not meant to save the world,… We’re meant to leave it.” If the words don’t inspire you, Hans Zimmer’s score certainly might.

Here is the synopsis:

In the future, governments and economies across the globe have collapsed, food is scarce, NASA is no more, and the 20th Century is to blame. A mysterious rip in spacetime opens and it’s up to whatever is left of NASA to explore and offer up hope for mankind.

What do you think of the new Christopher Nolan Interstellar trailer? The film will hit theaters everywhere November 7th!
