Okay, so here is the breakdown. Jurassic Park 4  has no director, no confirmed cast members (new or returning). no confirmed storyline, and yet… It’s shooting this Summer? That is the case according to a new report by the state of Louisiana. NOLA.com claims that the new Dinosaur sequel may shoot in their territory late Spring  or early Summer. The report states that Patrick Mulhern, who is Director of Studio Operations at Rayleigh confirmed that Universal did reserve Baton Rouge from April through November. What he did not specify is the name of the project that will shoot. Here is the statement from Mulhern himself:

“We are glad [NBC/Universal is] considering bringing more production work to Baton Rouge in the near future, whatever that may be. But nothing is confirmed at this point, and I guess you never really know until the office opens and they start building sets.”

The story further explains Universal filed with the Louisiana Secretary of State for a name change of Cirque Investments LLC (shooting name for films such as Cirque De Freak), to the name, Ebb Tide Films. As the report mentions, John Williams composed a song with the Boston Orchestra titled Ebb Tide. Honestly, that is a flimsy connection if you ask me. Yes, it’s a strange coincidence, but that still could be any project shooting in Louisiana.

If this is Jurassic Park 4 on the schedule, then I have very little hope for the film. It appears Universal is rushing this project to the point of failure. My biggest concern is the lack of cast or director, and a rushed release date of Summer 2014. How can you possibly make a great return to Jurassic Park on this type of schedule? We’ve waited this long already, and we can wait longer if it means the best film possible. Take your time Universal!
