Edgar Wright is one of my favorite filmmakers and that all started when I discovered his first two Three Cornetto films – Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. It was something about how he directed the chemistry between Simon Pegg and Nick Frost that won me over and I became a huge fan of both actors as well.

Outside of Wright’s films, Frost has not had much of a career in cinema other than the brilliant sci-fi monster movie Attack the Block. That all should change with his next film and the official Cuban Fury trailer just hit online to show us what we can expect from Frost in this – a comedy effort.

I remember reading an interview with Frost a few months back in Empire Magazine about this movie and how he wanted it to be a comedy movie that allowed his character to be taken seriously, despite the ludicrous options that he could take him (he is a former salsa dancing prodigy as a child who now wants to use it to win the heart of his fmale, played by Rashida Jones). The thought of someone of Frost’s size salsa dancing could make this slapstick, which is not what Frost said he wanted.

From the look of the trailer, it seems like they went with some of the fat jokes and slapstick based on Frost’s size, and honestly, it looks like what I expected when I heard about the movie – which is not a good thing.

However, as a fan of Frost, I am giving this a chance despite the trailer. Check it out and let us know what you think.
