That’s right Renegades! The Tokyo Drift actor is re-joining the Fast franchise for the 7th installment in the series. Not only that, but he has a contract for two more movies as well. This means Fast and Furious 8 & 9 are officially in the works.

If you haven’t seen the last movie, tread lightly because Spoilers will follow.

This should come as no surprise considering the film ties straight back into the Tokyo Drift story when Han dies. As everyone remembers, at the end of Tokyo Drift, Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) makes a cameo appearance at the end of the movie. He then races Sean Boswell–played by Lucas Black– in honor of their late friend Han. Basically making the last three entries prequels to Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. This now has me curious if he recruits Black in the revenge scheme against Han’s killer.

I’m not the biggest fan of Black’s character and the southern accent always seemed a bit too much in the movie. Especially since I’m from Texas and I can spot someone who embellishes it when acting. However, the ensemble has grown to a massive level already with the old cast, plus the new, that it won’t bother me so much.

Lucas Black joins an ever-growing cast which includes Kurt Russell, Jason Statham, Djimon Hounsou, Vin Diesel, and so much more. Fast & Furious 7  speeds into theaters July 11, 2014!
