Geoff Johns, the Chief Creative Officer of DC Comics has seemingly confirmed that Aquaman will soon be getting his own major animated feature film. On August 10th, a fan on Twitter asked Johns about the possibility of an Aquaman movie, and much to his surprise, not only did Johns respond, but he responded in the positive.
@ChrisFox72 @DCComics Yes, you will! #Aquaman

It’s unknown at this point when the film will be made or at what stage of development or pre-production it is right now. Considering that the future DC animated films will be based around the New 52, it’s very possible and even likely that the new Aquaman movie will be based on Johns’ recent run with the character.
I think this is some really great news. I completely agree with Chris that Aquaman is an underrated character who doesn’t get the respect he deserves. Johns really brought the character to the A-list in a big way with his work on Brightest Day, the rebooted Aquaman book, and Justice League. Believe it or not, he actually made the same character that everyone has made fun of all these years into a legitimate badass.
Don’t believe me? Take a look right below.
What did I tell you?
What do you think about the idea of an Aquaman animated feature? Would you be excited to see the King of Atlantis getting his time in the spotlight? What do you think the film should cover? Why don’t you just tell us what you think in the comments below?

Only if they make him aware that people think he’s a lame ass super hero, such as the new 52 relaunch. That way he is not only a superhero but has a chip on his shoulder.
I agree 100% – Aquaman has been brilliant in the New 52 and a self aware Aquaman is an entertaining Aquaman
I agree with what some have said, that there needs to be some feelings of inadequacy, however I think it’s a very fine line…ya know? How far does it go?
