The Anchorman 2 trailer just smashed into the Internet and – well – it showed some of the jokes from the upcoming movie. Look, I loved Anchorman, so it doesn’t matter how little this trailer showed, I am going to be there the minute it arrives in theaters.
The Anchorman 2 trailer starts out with a voice over telling us that Brick, Champ, Brian and Ron “rose like the phoenix” and then they were gone. Now, they return.
We get Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” as we learn that they are back for a brand new 24-hour news channel. Then it is just on to jokes.
Apparently Ron has a new African American lady interest and there is a very uncomfortable scene in the trailer where he is trying to get comfortable with her family by making wildly inappropriate racial statements. Brick also has a new love interest in Kristen Wigg, who is almost as awkward as him (Brick: “You’re hair looks like wet popcorn” Wiig: I like the parts of your face that are covered with skin). We also see a new antagonist in rival newscaster James Marsden as well as an underwear commercial with Paul Rudd.
