For people in the Houston area, Comicpalooza 2013 kicks off tomorrow morning, May 24, and the first thing you can do when you show up is check out the first batch of Stephen King dollar baby film screenings. While this is early on the first day of the convention, make every effort to make it there because the first films on the docket are some of the first, including the very first known Stephen King dollar baby film, “Boogeyman” by Jeff Schiro.

Also on hand throughout the weekend will be various dollar baby filmmakers who will be on-hand to meet the fans and sign autographs. Screenings on Saturday will start at 2 p.m. and on Sunday they kick off at 11:00 and will be followed by a one-hour special question and answer session with the dollar baby directors in attendance. On hand will be Rodney Altman (Umney’s Last Case), James Renner (All That You Love Will be Carried Away), Shawn S. Lealos (I Know What You Need), Jim Gonis (The Lawnmower Man), James Cox (Grey Matter), and author Bev Vincent (Dark Tower Encyclopedia).

Also on hand for Comicpalooza will be Galacticon, the Battlestar Galactica convention, Star Trek actors Patrick Stewart and Avery Brooks, Michelle Rodriguez, Danny Trejo and more.
