When the first Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer hit, Andy Serkis looked like a very familiar character from the Marvel Universe. While the character had not been advertised by Marvel as being part of the movie, there was a good chance this could tie in to the upcoming Black Panther movie. It looks like at least part of that is true as Andy Serkis is indeed playing Ulysses Klaw in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Klaw is one of Black Panther’s biggest enemies in the comics, and Panther is supposed to appear for the first time in Captain America: Civil War, so this could be just the first appearance of Klaw.

In one origin, Klaw is a Belgian scientist who murdered T’Chaka (Black Panther’s dad) when he refused to turn over their Vibranium to him. He replaced an amputated hand with a sonic blaster and has the power to use it as a powerful weapon. There is another origin story that has him as an assassin, and that almost fits better with the look of the trailer.

The revelation was given in a series of new press photos released for Avengers: Age of Ultron with Andy Serkis listed as Ulysses Klaw in the photo credits. Anyway, check out all the photos below and let us know what you think of the new character news from the next Avengers movie in the comment section below.
