Hey Renegades!
Back with a major report about our comrades over at DC. So, as everyone knows the DC Universe has a major film involving just the villains called Suicide Squad that is a part of the extended universe WB hopes to make. Well, the Suicide Squad cast has just been announced and it sure looks like an epic group of actors assembled by the studio.
So, here we go…. Ladies and gentlemen… Here is the line-up for the Suicide Squad cast.
Jared Leto as The Joker
Will Smith as Deadshot
Tom Hardy as Rick Flagg
Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn
Jai Courtney as Boomerang
and
Cara Delevinge as Enchantress.
What an amazing ensemble of actors! One thing this will do is give DC the A-List edge it needs to face-off against Marvel, especially with names such as Tom Hardy and Will Smith on the bill. This will also mark the 2nd DC appearance for Hardy after The Dark Knight Rises, which is fine by me since the guy wore a mask the whole film anyway.
The news broke over at Variety, with a statement from WB President Greg Silverman saying:
The Warner Bros. roots are deep on this one. We look forward to seeing this terrific ensemble, under David Ayer’s amazing guidance, give new meaning to what it means to be a villain and what it means to be a hero.
This is huge, Renegades! Will Smith is finally doing an ensemble film and playing Deadshot of all people. We get our next interpretation of the famous Joker, and we get another Tom Hardy superhero appearance all in one film. Holy red telephone Batman! Variety also says that Jesse Eisenberg is also expected to reprise his role as Lex Luthor in Suicide Squad, following the release of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.
The film is scheduled for release August 5, 2016 and will be directed by David Ayer who just released Fury with Brad Pitt. What do you think of the Suicide Squad cast?
