The Jared Leto Joker rumors for the new slate of DC Comics related movies heated up last month when he was said to be in talks to appear as the Clown Prince of Crime in the upcoming Suicide Squad movie. While him appearing in Suicide Squad, instead of a Batman movie, seemed strange, a recent interview with Jared Leto has those rumors heating up again.

The Hollywood Reporter was talking to the actor and approached him with the Jared Leto Joker rumors, and wanted to know if there was anything to it. For the second time in the last month, an actor gave a similar answer to a question about the Suicide Squad movie. Just last month at the Tulsa Wizard World Comic Con, Jon Bernthal was asked about appearing in the movie, and he said that he wasn’t allowed to talk about it.

Jared Leto had a similar answer to the Joker rumors. Leto, who is on a sabbatical from acting, has said that he may have found his next major role that will draw him back. When asked about Suicide Squad, Leto simply said “I’ve sworn to keep my mouth shut.”

Casting Jared Leto seems very similar to the casting of Heath Ledger a decade ago for The Dark Knight. A lot of people were against the casting, but he proved everyone wrong and just knocked it out of the park. Unlike Ledger, Jared Leto really could fit the role of The Joker, so this is something that could really be happening.

Now, the question is whether the Jared Leto Joker appearance would just be a cameo to introduce Harley Quinn or if he will play a major role in Suicide Squad. What are your thoughts about Jared Leto as The Joker? Let us know in the comments below.
