The Sundance Film Festival hit movie Obvious Child just released its new trailer. The movie, which has screened at Sunday, South by Southwest and the Vail Film Festival, among others, opens in theaters in June 2014 from the distributor A24.
Renegade Cinema’s own Bethany Lewis saw Obvious Child at the Vail Film Festival and called it a direct reaction to the generic romantic comedies that do not resonate or relate to women. In her review, she called it “as real, honest, and genuine as it gets.” Now, movie fans can get a chance to see what this movie is all about.
Obvious Child tells the story of Donna Stern, a comedian who delivers jokes that are very personal and often intimate and very inappropriate. When things in her life takes a very unexpected turn and she ends up pregnant, she has to figure out how to actually figure out how to get through her troubles as honestly as possible.
Jenny Slate (House of Lies) stars in the movie directed by first-time feature film director Gillian Robespierre.
