One of the best parts of Super Bowl Sunday is watching the new commercials. This year there are a lot of fantastic movie trailers amongst the Super Bowl commercials. Here is a look at the movies that will have new trailers during Super Bowl XLVIII
Super Bowl Commercials
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
There has already been one fantastic trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier and the next big one will hit during the Super Bowl commercials. This has to be one of the most anticipated movies Marvel put out in Phase II, based simply on the anticipation from the first trailers. This could be the one that seals the deal. Captain America: The Winter Soldier hits theaters on April 4.
Need for Speed
Based on the classic EA racing video game and starring Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul, this movie has Paul play a man released from prison for a crime he never committed who sets out to avenge the death of his friend. This is the second trailer for the movie. Need for Speed hits theaters on March 14.
Muppets Most Wanted
The sequel to the surprisingly great Muppets is coming this year with all the Muppets back and throwing them into a crime caper led by Constantine, who happens to look just like Kermit the Frog. This is the third trailer released for the film. Muppets Most Wanted hits theaters on March 21.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2
While a lot of people felt let down by Marc Webb’s Amazing Spider-Man, I thought the movie was great and took the character in a different direction we hadn’t seen before. I also loved the mythology of Peter’s past that was developed and I can’t wait to see what is next. This is the second trailer for the big comic book movie. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters on May 2.
Transformers: Age of Extinction
Michael Bay is back with the Transformers franchise and he has left Shia LaBeouf behind in exchange for Mark Wahlberg. Right now, the only returning Transformers are Optimus Prime and Bumblebee and it looks like the Dinobots are coming in this movie. This will be the first trailer for the movie, so fans can get a better look at what to expect. Transformers: Age of Extinction hits theaters on June 27.
Draft Day
You can’t have a major movie trailer during the Super Bowl commercials without including Kevin Costner’s Draft Day. Directed by Ivan Reitman (Ghostbusters), the movie follows an NFL general manager played by Costner who tries to help build his team into a contender through the NFL Draft. This trailer will debut during the Super Bowl XLVIII pre-game show. Draft Day hits theaters on April 11.
