December sees the release of the second movie in Peter Jackson’s Hobbit prequels – The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug – where as anyone who has been paying attention knows is where we get to meet the dragon Smaug up close and personal (voiced by the awesome Benedict Cumberbatch).
Well, in the anticipation for the new movie, Warner Bros. has released a number of character posters that you will probably start seeing very soon in your local theaters advertising the big holiday movie.
These include Bilbo (Martin Freeman), Gandalf (Ian McKellen), Legolas (Orlando Bloom), Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage), Bard (Luke Evans), Thranduil (Lee Pace), and Tauriel (Evangeline Lilly). I’d like to see one with Smaug on it – or at least a hint of him – or maybe even an eye, but these are pretty cool as well.
Check them out.
The second in a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug continues the adventure of the title character Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and thirteen Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) on an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor.
