Edgar Wright is pretty much a God around these parts, making the great zombie movie Shaun of the Dead, pitch perfect buddy cop homage Hot Fuzz and spectacularly fun comic book adaptation Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. Next up is his alien invasion movie The World’s End and then it is on to Marvel Universe movie. The great news is that the Edgar Wright Ant-Man script is completed according to the director.

Edgar Wright Ant-Man scriptThis has fans really excited, but seeing how they treated Shane Black when he made a Marvel movie and how they ignored Guillermo Del Toro when he made a summer blockbuster, Edgar Wright’s sure-to-be brilliant movie might fall on deaf ears, but be assured that Renegade Cinema will be there with eyes and ears wide open.

According to Wright, he and writing partner Joe Cornish (Attack the Block) have finished the script for Ant-Man and he will move into that job when his promotional duties for The World’s End completes. Also, don’t be surprised to see him back at Comic-Con this year. He introduced a surprise teaser trailer for Ant-Man there last year.

This is a second version of the script, as Edgar Wright needed to integrate the Marvel Universe into his story, which was originally conceived before the Avengers universe exploded. The Edgar Wright Ant-Man script will start off Phase 3, which also is rumored to include the introduction to Doctor Strange and maybe The Black Panther as well.

Ant-Man is Henry Pym, a founding member of The Avengers in the comics, and a brilliant scientist who also battles with some pretty serious personal demons. Scott Lang, a thief who is rehabilitated, served as Ant-Man after Pym retired from the role, and Wright at one time said both will be in his movie.

Ant-Man is scheduled for release November 6, 2015.
