Howdy horror fans…if you’re like me, you’re looking forward to the July 19th release of The Conjuring, which details one of the most frightening and heretofore undisclosed cases (pretend I read that in a deep, gravelly horror trailer narrator’s voice) explored by Ed and Lorraine Warren, the famous New England paranormal investigative couple who are famous for their research of and dealings with hauntings and other activity (demonic) at places like the Amityville house. In this instance, Ed and Lorraine are trying to assist the Perron family, who have been experiencing escalating disturbances in their new Rhode Island home.

As usual, with the release date fast approaching, marketing efforts are ramping up. Six new clips from The Conjuring have been released; check them out below. It should go without saying that these snippets constitute SPOILERS, so if you want to remain unsullied going into this rare phenomenon — you know, a summer spooker — you may want to resist the six clicks of temptation below.

In the interest of full disclosure, this Renegade Reporter only watched the last clip above (‘I know where you’re hiding’). You see, I’m one of those people who would have taken my own advice and resisted these clicks of temptation, because the buzz on The Conjuring has been terrific and I really, really want a nice creepy ride through this haunted house in the theater in a few weeks. Luckily, ‘I know where you’re hiding’ doesn’t reveal too much as much if not all of this footage was already used in one of the teaser trailers. Still, it’s an eerily effective scene that really puts you on the edge of your seat (or couch)…so much so that I wish I hadn’t seen it outside of the context of the film. That’s why I’ll be resisting taking a look at the other five clips above. If you did click away, hope you enjoyed the clips, and hope to see you at the theater in a few weeks for a spooky good time.
