If you haven’t seen The Avengers, and were just spoiled by the article headline, I apologize. However, please come out from the rock you are hiding under, and see the damn movie already. As most everyone knows, Agent Coulson didn’t survive the first Avengers team-up film. Well, according to executive producer Joss Whedon, Agent Coulson returning to life in the television series, which takes place after the events of The Avengers, will play a major role.
Here is what Whedon told the crowd at SXSW:
“I’ll tell you guys this, Heimlich,” Whedon joked, before effectively clamming up about the show. “I can’t talk about it,” he admitted, but said that he did bring Coulson back from the dead for the ABC drama. “Yes. For realsies.”
What is not mentioned, is how they plan to resurrect his character from the dead. I’m sure Whedon has something clever in mind, and I damn sure wouldn’t have any complaints in seeing Clark Gregg continue the role. I just hope it’s not something as lazy as him being cloned. I look forward to seeing how they pull it off.
Are you excited to see Agent Coulson returning from being dead?

I’m thinking they will introduce the SHIELD LMD’s (Life Model Decoys). Which would be pretty darn cool to me!
If that happens, which would be cool, I would hope the one who died was the LMD, and that the real Coulson was still alive. My thought is that he never died and Fury lied about it to get the team fired up
I imagine that’s the plan, they teased the whole fake death thing immediately after cutting away from Coulson. My only problem with Coulson is that they have now created his character in the comic books
It reminds me of what they did with Chloe in Smallville when they added her to the Superman comics
