A list with a lot of the shows for the Fall 2013 television season has been released, and one that I have heard a bit about is the JJ Abrams produced Almost Human. Well, I knew the basic plot line and knew that Karl Urban was starring in it, but when I watched the Almost Human trailer today, I was not prepared for what I saw.
Holy crap, I thought that Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD was my most anticipated show this fall, but Almost Human looks pretty dang amazing.
Basically, Karl Urban is a human cop in the future who has robot body parts because he lost limbs (I am guessing) in the line of duty. In this time frame, human cops have to be paired with robot cops, and Urban is not happy about this because he hates the robots (it reminds me here of I-Robot).
He is then paired up with a robot (Michael Ealy) who actually thinks like a human instead of all the others who think like automated machines. We then get a lot of explosions, quippy one-liners and action in what looks like it can be a great buddy cop TV show with a twist. I really hope this one is as good as the preview makes it look.
Check out the three minute Almost Human trailer and let us know what you think.
ALMOST HUMAN is a high-tech, high-stakes action drama set 35 years in the future, when police officers are partnered with highly evolved human-like androids. An unlikely partnership is forged when a part-machine cop (Urban) is forced to pair with a part-human robot (Ealy) as they fight crime and investigate a deeper cover-up in a futuristic new world.
