I still think they should have gone with 301. The release date for 300: Rise of an Empire has been moved from August to March 2014. It’s moving up to replace a spot left vacant by the relocation of Tom Cruise sci-fi actioner All You Need Is Kill to a prime summer weekend.
Warner Bros. is throwing it’s summer ’14 hopes behind Kill, which is being directed by Doug Liman and will co-star Emily Blunt and Bill Paxton.
All You Need Is Kill is based on the Japanese light novel of the same name about a futuristic soldier caught in a time loop having to relive the same battle over and over again. Looks like Groundhog Day meets Starship Troopers is the best hope Warner Bros. has for a tentpole summer movie between Justice League-related releases. Expect it June 6, 2014.
Oh and the 300 sequel is probably going to suck.
