On Memorial Day weekend (May 24-26), the Stephen King dollar baby filmmakers are coming to Houston, Texas for Comicpalooza, the Texas International Comic Con. Over the three days of the festival, 20 different Stephen King dollar babies will screen during the convention’s film festival.
Also on hand at the festival will be some of the Stephen King dollar baby filmmakers, who will meet and greet with the fans and talk about their experiences making their Dollar Baby movies. Attending the festival will be James Gonis (Lawnmower Man), Peter Sullivan (Night Surf), James Cox (Grey Matter), James Renner (All That You Love Will be Carried Away) and Rodney Altman (Umney’s Last Case).
I will be hosting the events, along with my dollar baby film (I Know What You Need) as well as promoting my upcoming book “Dollar Deal: The Stories of the Dollar Baby Filmmakers.” Bev Vincent, author of The Road to the Dark Tower will also be in attendance as a special guest.
Comicpalooza takes place at the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston. The Stephen King dollar baby filmmakers will have a table in the exhibitor’s hall to meet and talk with fans.
Also attending Comicpalooza this year as guests will be Patrick Stewart (X-Men, Star Trek), Michelle Rodriguez (Fast and Furious, Resident Evil), Cary Elwes (Princess Bride, Saw), Sam Huntington (Superman Returns), Peter Mahew (Chewbacca), and more.
Also on hand this year is Galacti-con, the once every five year Battlestar Galactica fan convention. Attending this event will be Edward James Olmos, Richard Hatch, Dirk Benedict, Michael Hogan, Anne Lockhart, Noah Hathaway and more.
