Horror television has been getting better and better over the years.
While there has always been great horror on TV (American Gothic, Angel, Supernatural), there is almost a cornucopia of TV shows for horror lovers on air right now, from The Walking Dead to American Horror Story.
Now, the Alcon Television Group plans to bring a Rachel Rising TV adaptation to network television as well.
Check out the synopsis for the Terry Moore comic book:
Rachel wakes up at sunrise on a shallow grave in the woods and discovers the freshly murdered body in the dirt is her own. With events of the previous night a blur, Rachel seeks out her boyfriend Phillip. But Phillip has a new girl now and Rachel is beginning to suspect she rose from the grave for a reason– revenge!
Basically, the book shares some in common with The Walking Dead, as our hero is actually a member of the walking dead. She also has to deal with friends, a mysterious blonde who is tracking her and a little girl named Zoe, who is on a killing spree.
It is marketed as a horror story for people who don’t like horror stories.
The Alcon Television Group is shopping the Rachel Rising TV adaptation around to networks, and allegedly has suitors already.
