Latino Review has reported that 42 star Chadwick Boseman is at the top of the short list to play Black Panther in the future for Marvel.
El Mayimbe points out how Boseman fits Marvel’s method of casting stars. Outside of getting big names like Robert Downey Jr., Samuel L. Jackson, they’ve focused on finding young up and coming actors to fill the roles of their new stars. Not only are they fresh faces, but they’re also much more affordable.
It was announced a few years ago that Marvel would at some point be making a Black Panther movie, but there hasn’t been hardly any news at all on the subject in quite a while. So this is a welcome surprise. Boseman is a talented actor, and it’s not difficult at all to see him donning the Panther suit.
The Black Panther is easily one of Marvel’s most important characters that they have not yet adapted. He was the very first black superhero in Marvel’s history, and he is a very unique character beyond that sole fact. He’s not just a superhero, but he’s also the king of a highly industrialized nation in Africa, and one of the smartest men in the world. Some fans have described him as Marvel’s answer to Batman. Who wouldn’t want to see that?
What do you think of Boseman playing Black Panther? Do you think he’d be a good choice for the role? Why don’t you just tell us what you think in the comments below?
