Months back it was stated that the Michael Bay produced Ninja Turtles movie would take a new Alien approach instead of Mutant. After that you could hear a global cry of every childhood fan’s middle finger to Michael Bay. Now, a new interview indicates that Bay is starting to change his tune on the alien concept.

Moviefone spoke to the director and asked about the upcoming Ninja Turtles film. Bay goes on to address some of the confusion regarding the alien rumors.

There was that quote saying that we’re making [the Ninja Turtles as] aliens. We’re not. It’s the ooze! It’s from the original source material. These are from the original writers, and I never went out to correct myself in the press. I do listen to the fans and I do want this to be authentic. I think they’re going to be really happy with this movie. When I see the digital stuff, the turtles look great.

I remember vaguely hearing something about this months back, which said that it wasn’t the turtles who were aliens but the ooze that mutates the turtles is of “alien” origin. Michael Bay doesn’t exactly validate this fully but it could explain some of the “Alien Turtles” confusion. If this is the case, maybe this will calm the angry fans down a little. So far the production news hasn’t accomplished much faith among the fanbase.
