Paul Heyman opens this week’s WWE Monday Night Raw and starts talking about what fans can expect from Night of Champions when John Cena fights Brock Lesnar. That doesn’t last long because John Cena interrupts and asks where Brock Lesnar is. He said that if Lesnar doesn’t show up, he will fight Paul Heyman. In response, Heyman said that he will get it and yells “Here comes the pain!” No one comes out because Lesnar’s plane was delayed, but he will be there later. He then accused Cena of knowing this and calling out Lesnar now to make himself look like a hero. Cena grabs Heyman and said that if Brock is not there by the halfway mark of the show, then he will kick Heyman’s ass. Cena blocks Heyman from leaving and tells him he doesn’t trust him and headlocks him before walking him into the back and locks him in his locker room.

Chris Jericho vs. Kane

Chris Jericho is out next. This is supposed to be Y2J’s last week in the WWE before heading out on tour with Fozzy. Jericho is set to wrestle Corporate Kane in the opening match on WWE Monday Night Raw. The two fought a longish back-and-forth match against each other that saw the two men reversing each other’s big moves (Kane caught Jericho by the throat during a lion sault attempt and set up for a choke slam, which Jericho turned into a DDT). The end came when Kane uncovered a turnbuckle earlier in the match but Y2J sent Kane into it later in the match and won by pin.

Renee is backstage and is interviewing Roman Reigns about getting the chance to fight Seth Rollins tonight on WWE Monday Night Raw.

Jack Swagger is out next with Zeb Colter for a match against Bo Dallas. The match went a decent amount of time and Bo Dallas didn’t look bad, but Swagger got the clean win by submission with the Patriot Lock.

Up next is the first time that Nikki Bella and Brie Bella have fought as Nikki teams with Paige to battle AJ Lee and Brie. It looked like Nikki and Brie would go head to head first, but Nikki tagged in Paige and refused to fight. Just when Brie was about to make the tag to AJ Lee, Nikki Bella yanked AJ Lee off the ring apron and Paige won with the Ram-Paige. After the match, Nikki Bella hit the Shock Treatment on Brie Bella. Meanwhile, AJ Lee played mind games with Paige.

Bray Wyatt vs. The Big Show

Bray Wyatt cuts a backstage promo next and it sounds like they are having a Bray Wyatt vs. Big Show match coming up tonight. Big Show comes out next for that match. Bray Wyatt is out next with The Wyatt Family in tow. It was a pretty even match, but when it looked like Big Show was going to get the win, The Wyatt Family interfered for the DQ. Big Show then hit the double choke slam on both members while Bray Wyatt sat in his rocking chair outside the ring and laughed.

The Usos are out next with Sheamus for a six-man tag team match. Their opposition are their opponents for Night of Champions, Stardust, Goldust and Cesaro. Jey Uso claims he is 100 percent from his leg injury. There was a very funny moment in the match where Cesaro did Sheamus’ 10 Beats of the Bowery on Jey. The ending of the match was a house of fire. Sheamus got the hot tag and just started destroying everyone. Cesaro blind tagged Cody and after Sheamus hit the Brogue Kick on Cody, Cesaro hit the Neutralizer on Sheamus. However, The Usos made the save and Jey pinned Cesaro after a frog splash.

Renee is backstage and is interviewing Randy Orton about his attack on Chris Jericho last week. Orton claims the reason he attacked Jericho last week was because Chris said Orton was handed everything in his career a couple of weeks before.

John Cena confronts Brock Lesnar

John Cena goes to get Paul Heyman (Cena stole Sting’s line: “It’s Showtime”). Cena drags Heyman to the ring. Cena said that this is the moment that everyone has waited for. He will make The Beast appear or John Cena will make Paul Heyman’s teeth disappear. Paul Heyman said that everything about Hustle, Loyalty and Respect is a sham and John Cena has proved he is right. He said that, if John Cena hits him, that will make John Cena a bully, just like Brock Lesnar. He tells Cena to hit him and prove him right. He said that he deserves to be hit, but Cena can’t lower himself to that level and that is why he won’t hit him. Heyman told Cena to hit him and prove that he can be a Paul Heyman Guy. John Cena said “no” because he wouldn’t hit an old, washed up has been like Paul Heyman. That cause Heyman to question Cena’s lack of testicles and Cena finally snapped and decked Paul Heyman. That brought out Brock Lesnar. Lesnar toyed with Cena and then finally attacked him. Lesnar hit a big German and looked like he was going to walk out on top but John Cena recovered and attacked Lesnar, beating the hell out of him. Officials finally separated them and Lesnar walked off with what the announcers said might be a broken nose.

Cameron is in the ring with a new vanity gimmick and her opponent is her former Funkadactyls opponent Naomi. The match was actually a decent one for Divas and Naomi won by submission. From what they said, Cameron is headed to NXT.

The Miz and Damien Sandow (Mizdow) are waiting in the ring for Dolph Ziggler and R-Truth (R-Ziggler). This is a tag team match. My God, the announcers are annoying here by pretending that they can’t tell the stars apart from the stunt doubles. After Miz and Sandow had a miscommunication, Ziggler pinned Miz after the Zig Zag. Strangely, Jerry Lawler was on Miz’s side through the entire match.

Tom is backstage to interview “Mr. Money in the Bank” Seth Rollins. He compares Roman Reigns to a rhino, one of the most powerful animals in the world, but not very smart.

Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins

Roman Reigns is out and he is about to fight Seth Rollins. This is crazy – the first time these two former teammates fight and it is on free TV on WWE Monday Night Raw. This was a great match, as both men knew each other well enough to block and dodge signature moves. The end came when Roman Reigns ducked out of the Curb Stomp and then hit the spear to pin Seth Rollins. They face each other in a rematch at Night of Champions.

This week’s WWE Monday Night Raw episode ends with Mark Henry coming out to the ring to represent the United States. Michael Cole is in the ring and he is serving as the host for this segment. He said that, for anyone who loves America, he can’t and won’t let them down. Mark Henry starts to talk about how Lana wouldn’t be allowed to talk like she does if she lived in Russia. That brought out Lana and Rusev. Lana points out that Mark Henry lost in the 1992 Olympic Games and Russia won the Gold Medal that year. Lana said that Henry’s confidence was shattered in 1992 when Russia won and that caused Henry to fake an injury in 1996 to avoid losing again. Lana said that history will repeat itself at Night of Champions. Mark Henry began to give the Pledge of Allegiance but Rusev attacked him. Rusev went for the Accolade but Henry fought out, hit a powerbomb onto Rusev and chunked him from the ring. Mark Henry waived the American Flag to end WWE Monday Night Raw.
