This week, both the Son of God and Liam Neeson tried to topple The Lego Movie and both succeeded in knocking the Lego Movie down two spots. All three movies had good weekends and it was Liam Neesom who edged out the win for the box office weekend.

Non-Stop finished the weekend with a $30.5 million take while Son of God finished second with a $26.5 million take. Despite falling two spots, The Lego Movie still brought in an impressive $21.0 million, to move up to an impressive $209.3 million domestic take.

Non-Stop made about $8 million more than Neeson’s UnknownSon of God is one of the most successful religious movies for its opening box office weekend behind only The Passion of the Christ.

In another big movie, Frozen remained in the Top 10 at 8th and is now the 18th movie of all time to break the $1 billion mark. There are guesses that it should reach 10th of all time before all is said and done.
