Sure, you’re tired of television networks pulling the plug on shows before they catch their stride. Never fear – NBC has renewed Hannibal, so this show has legs. I think with the influence of America Horror Story on FX is helping break down the walls of horror, making quality television. With shows like Grimm and The Followingnetwork TV has seen that gore can work with a smart story. If you have never seen an episode of “Hannibal” you can catch it on Amazon Prime. There are also some interesting teasers and a Season 1 recap on nbc.com.

With any furter ado, here are four things you need to know before Hannibal Season 2 starts (tonight) Friday February 28th.

Hannibal Season 2

4. Dr. Hannibal Lecter set up his former buddy Will Graham for his crimes, just as Will was piecing together Hannibal ‘s crime spree. I don’t want to go into greater detail for anyone that has not seen the first season.

3. Dr. Bedelia Du Maurie (Gillian Anderson) was saved by Hannibal when one of his former patients attacked her. These two have a very odd relationship as she is his therapist and often dines with Hannibal knowing what and who he is. She also may have taught him everything he knows in the dinning department. She has also told him to be careful because she is setting a pattern.

2. Aside from the fact that Hannibal is a cannibal, he can also cook. No seriously, There is ALWAYS an amazing scene of Hannibal preparing a meal. Normally for himself, but sometimes he has a guest or two. So not only has Hannibal eaten people, but Will, Jack Crawford and others have possibly taken part in cannibalism.

1. When it was announced that Hannibal was being renewed, I wondered if Will was even going to be apart of the show, or was Hannibal going to go forward, pinning his murders on someone else – maybe Jack. Well, from the sneak peaks we see that Will is still around. Considering the enormous crimes he was charged with, and escaping from the police once already (while being transferred), it would take a miracle to get him free. Unless Will’s visions increase (and they have already) to seeing Hannibal’s new crimes, or pieces of the new ones, Will will stay in jail.

With that we’ll end it with Hors d’Oeuvres anyone?
