Last week, we heard from Bruce Campbell and this week there is clarification that not only is Army of Darkness 2 in the works, but Sam Raimi is directing it. The clarification comes from the director of this year’s Evil Dead remake, Fede Alvarez.

This is great news because there should never be a sequel to the exploits of Ash without Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi involved as star and director. I had no problem at all with the new Evil Dead movie since that was produced by Campbell and Raimi and Alvarez was a big fan of the originals.

Plus, with the post-credit scene, it proves that the world or Alvarez’s Evil Dead and the world of Ash are in the same universe. Bruce Campbell himself said he wants to make an Army of Darkness 2 and he wants Alvarez to make a sequel to his movie as well.

Campbell said that, after those movies (which would include Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness, Army of Darkness 2, The Evil Dead, and the sequel to that), a seventh Evil Dead movie would be made where Ash and Mia would team up to battle the Deadittes.

I know a lot of people feel there is “no need” for these movies, but I don’t care. I want to see it happen.
