Earlier in the month, we reported on speculation that The Wolverine would set up future X-Men stories. James Mangold himself said that the story of the new film will be self-contained. That may be the case, but news just broke today that there will be a post-credits video that will tie into the events of Bryan Singer’s upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past film.
Believe it or not, this news come from none other than the man behind the claws himself, Hugh Jackman. Jackman confirmed the existence of a post-credits video and what it will lead into while praising the film into an interview with The Buzz Today.
“There’s a lot of great actors in it, and if you stick around to the end of the credits of The Wolverine, you’re going to get a really nice little Easter Egg for what Days of Future Past has to offer… which we can’t reveal!”
Since The Wolverine takes place after the events of X-Men: The Last Stand, it’s likely that they’ll be using the time travel elements of Future Past for this scene. After all, Singer did say that he’d take the time to correct a few of the past flaws.
What do you think about the idea of a post-credits video? Are you excited to see how the next two X-Men films will be related? Why don’t you just tell us what you think in the comments below?
