The very first Marvels Agents of SHIELD TV spot hit tonight during the season finale of Once Upon a Time.
Not a lot was shown from the new television spot, but we did get a nice voice over from the returning Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg), explaining that this takes place where The Avengers left off. He also said it is not spy vs. spy, and that SHIELD faces enemies no one else can handle.
This is showcased by the shot from the Marvels Agents of SHIELD teaser we brought you earlier that showed someone saving someone by jumping from a tall building and landing on the ground on their feet. From the glimpse, that character looked a bit like J. August Richards, who Joss Whedon fans know as Gunn from Angel.
This entire TV show looks right up Joss Whedon’s alley, as it brings the supernatural to a team dynamic – exactly what he succeeded with in shows like Buffy, Angel and Firefly. If it comes close to the brilliance of those, I will be a very happy person.
