The Jurassic World cast has added a major name to it’s growing ensemble by casting Vincent D’Onofrio (Law and Order: Criminal Intent) as the film’s villain.  Irrfan Khan (The Amazing Spider-Man, Life of Pi) was also added to the cast in a supporting role.

Khan will be playing a guy named Patel the “billionaire owner of a new Jurassic Park.”  D’Onofrio meanwhile will be playing the CFO of the Patel Corporation “who projects the image of a normal family man to mask a hidden edge.”

While I’ve never really been crazy about D’Onofrio as an actor, I can understand why they cast him as the movie’s antagonist.  If there’s one thing he has consistently done well, it’s playing a psychopath, which seems to be what they were looking for in this movie.  Admittedly I don’t see him being able to pull off the “normal family man” part of his role.  However, since we already know that he’s going to be playing the villain, I guess we’re not exactly supposed to be shocked in the theaters that he turns out to be the bad guy.  My guess is that they’re going for something like Jeff Bridges in Iron Man.

Do you think D’Onofrio is a good choice to play the villain?  What do you think of the Jurassic World cast so far?  Give us your thoughts in the comment section below.
