The promotion for the upcoming G.I. Joe: Retaliation is in full force. With the flick set to his theaters on March 28, Paramount is doing everything they can to get people excited about the movie.

Originally set to hit theaters last year, the movie was shelved so the studio could convert it into 3D, presumably to help International box office in case it flops like fellow toy adaptation Battleship. While fun, the original movie was not as well received as some hoped, and the addition of The Rock and Bruce Willis had minimal effect of improving the excitement levels for this movie.

Honestly, I liked the first movie for big popcorn fun and adding The Rock has me pretty excited about this one as well. I also like that they didn’t completely retcon the first film, since the ending was pretty daring.

Well, Paramount released a new video and a new website at www.cobraspecialforces.com. Check out the video here and then head on over and see what that new website is all about.

In this sequel, the G.I. Joes are not only fighting their mortal enemy Cobra; they are forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardize their very existence. The film stars D.J. Cotrona, Byung-hun Lee, Adrianne Palicki, Ray Park, Jonathan Pryce, Ray Stevenson, Channing Tatum with Bruce Willis and Dwayne Johnson. Directed Jon M. Chu, and produced by Lorenzo di Bonventura and Brian Goldner, from screenplay by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick based on Hasbro’s G.I Joe characters.
