Alfonso Cuaron is one of my all-time favorite contemporary filmmakers. The dedication that goes into a Cuaron movie is just magnificent. His film Children of Men is quite possibly one of the most powerful scifi films I’ve ever experienced in a theater. The entire world he created within that film actually felt like what a disastrous depiction of the future would seem like. So, ever since I heard he was returning again with another science fiction project, I’ve been on edge drooling with anticipation.
Which brings me to the first epic trailer for Gravity. The film involves two astronauts– George Clooney and Sandra Bullock– who are performing a routine spacewalk, when a terrible event unfolds, leaving them floating together in the emptiness of space. This preview is quite the nail-biter guys. Get ready for Gravity!

Gravity opens in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D on October 18, 2013!
Sandra Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney) in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone–tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth… and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.
